Whats with all the easy bruising... Half of them I don't even remember how I got them...

I've heard Iron deficiency is a cause of easy bruising and if that's case what's the worse that could happen? Liver shutdown? Other than supplements... Whats a good source of Iron / potassium (other than bananas)

I bruise easily also, have done so all my life. Ask your doc just to make sure there is nothing going on that
needs serious attention. Otherwise, are you on any blood thinners? Aspirin? Gingko? Some herbs are
blood thinners. Vitamin K is a clotting vitamin, I have taken it before surgeries, but I am not a doc and
hesitate to give medical advice. If there is no underlying problem, and you are not on blood thinners, go to
health food store and get a good multi vitamin as well as making sure your diet is rich in kale, spinach,
nuts, occasional red meat if you eat meat. Please let me know. My bruising has lessened since I am
conscious of my diet.

After thinking about it. The fact I hadn't really eaten in 2 days might have contributed so I ate all day Monday and Tuesday. My urine color normalized and the bruising stopped. Guess it was just mal-nutrition and dehydration even though I was drinking ALOT of water and snacking on fruit throughout the day...

Perhaps. But next time you see your family doc, mention it.... all I have to do is bump something hard and I bruise,
or do yard work, etc. Do you have a slow clotting time when cut, even small cuts? I sure do.

Not really... Ive had multiple blood tests run because of the family history of diabetes and heart disease. Everything has checked out so far =)

Vitamin C and bioflavinoids lack causes bruising. Lots of stuff kills them in your body. Alcohol, drugs and cigs for just a few and our bodies do not manufacture it so you need it. Way more than the so called RDA claims we need. Heard of scurvy? Same thing. Lack of C and bioflavinoids.

Artificial iron can damage the liver and if you take iron, it can block the absorption of other minerals. Can't remember which ones. So take them separate if you supplement. Iron comes in meat, fish, eggs, liver, poultry, whole grains and green leafy vegetables. Forget iceberg lettuce. It is not consdiered food. Too much genetic enegineering and artificial fertilizers to mass produce it.

Potassium...Dairy, fish, fruits, legumes, meat, poultry, veggies and whole grain. A really good book for info is Prescription for nutritional Healing...4th edition...Phyllis A Balch. I swear by it.

Another cause could be a lack of vitamin C because vitamin C contributes to the strength of the wall of the blood vessels. If this continues after making the changes in your diet, consult your Physician. It could be any number of serious conditions including: Leukemia or if you're of East European Jewish descent,Gaucher disease, which is treatable when detected early.
